Where can I find information about building a company website?

I work for a security company and I am trying to figure out how to build our website? Does anyone know of any good sites out there with the information that I need?
We already have a domain so I do not need that, I would just like to learn to build a site myself. When I google it all I find is info on who to pay to build a site.

    http://www.godaddy.com will let you register the domain and create the site very easily and inexpensively. For more advanced programming you will need a pro, like me. :) :)
